Just came across this post and your other regarding the Forum. I went through these two programs about 10 years ago. The experience was life changing for me as well. I also struggled with the constant push to "enroll" others. I do believe in the idea that if you create a new possibility for yourself, it is essential to share that with others. It is important to enroll them in your new way of being so that they will see you in that way now and can hold you accountable to being that way. And I definitely wanted others to experience the same life altering thrill that I did, so I told everyone I could about it. But at the same time, I felt a bit like a cheap whore being sent out by my pimp to drum up more business. Anyways, glad you found your way there.

I've had lots of friends complete Landmark programs, and I've learned the hard way that when I get a call from someone who's just started doing it, to say "I'm so excited to talk to you about everything that you're learning, but if you try to recruit me to join the program I'm going to have to end the conversation." Thankfully, everyone has been able to respect that.

It's too bad, though. Landmark does seem to contain some hugely valuable lessons, but the structure of the business is pretty frustrating.

I agree with a lot of what you say with the marketing tactics. I'm on the Introduction Leaders Program right now and really coming up against it. I've dropped out of the program 6 times since 1996 because I get angry at it, but I'm actually following through and getting through the program this time, and seriously embracing it rather than just surviving it. It's over on March 19 and man, am I excited. But for now, I am getting lots out of taking this on - sharing myself on a deeper level, being more vulnerable, etc. But I definitely always have to put aside my pissed-offedness and wonder why they aren't just up front in seminars ie "the last half hour of every seminar will involve coaching in how to invite people, and you will be asked to invite people. If that bothers you, you should know it up front..."

Thanks for your fair review, though. Landmark is great, and in the end it's been worth it for me even with all that, but still, it's a constant exercise in letting it go and finding the good...hey, maybe that's the whole point?!?!
